Welcome to 'There Has to Be a Better Way: Improving HR Processes'

savvyanalytiqs

I've always been drawn to problem-solving.  I love anything involving puzzles and logic and finding the most efficient ways to do any task.  With a master's degree in I/O Psychology and a self-taught expertise in Excel and VBA, I've found my calling in creating efficiency tools that make HR professionals' lives easier.

I started using basic excel formulas, then began to create simple macros to automate the repetitive tasks I faced every week. Over time, this grew into larger projects, automating entire HR processes for my colleagues. Now, it's become my business, and while I've been called a 'wizard' more times than I can count, I assure you there's no magic involved.

The secret? I refuse to accept that a clunky process is the only way. Instead, I take the time to find a solution and implement it. Sometimes I slip back into the thinking of: "This task takes me 30 minutes, and improving the process might take two hours, so it's not worth it."  But it is. If it is a task you do on a recurring basis, and especially if it is something more than one person is doing, it is worth it. Your future self will thank you.  Not only will you save yourself time on that one task, but you’ll also build your capabilities and spark new ideas: “If I can fix that problem, what else can I solve?”

Through this blog, I aim to share my favorite time-saving tricks and efficiency hacks. Expect a mix of my go-to formulas, basic macros, and productivity tips spanning Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and I'll show you how to create powerful connections across applications. My ultimate goal? Help you reclaim valuable time in your day to do the high impact work you were hired to do and time to do something for yourself too.

The real question is: what will you do with your reclaimed time?
