What is the Hierarchy Builder?
Our powerful Hierarchy Builder automatically converts your flat employee data (which typically only contains employee-to-manager relationships) into a complete hierarchical structure. This alone saves hours of manual work and enables advanced organizational analytics that would otherwise be impossible. The resulting data structure can be used both within Savvy Org Charts and for other analytics purposes.

How does licensing work?
Licenses are subscription-based and valid for one year from purchase. Each license is for a single user (Enterprise plans include multiple users). You'll be billed annually, with prices displayed as monthly equivalents. At the end of your subscription period, you can renew to maintain full functionality or let it expire.

What's the difference between Basic and Professional?
The Basic license focuses on essential org charting with 2-level deep views and includes our powerful Hierarchy Builder. The Professional license adds 3-level deep hierarchy views, advanced customization options, filtering, sorting, color coding, and the ability to save presets for different chart styles.​

Can I upgrade later?
Yes! You can start with the Basic license and upgrade to Professional at any time. We'll apply the remaining value of your current subscription toward the upgrade.

How do I get started?
Download the free demo from Microsoft AppSource to explore all features with sample data. When you're ready to use it with your own data, purchase a license and enter your license key in the add-in.

Can I try with my own data before purchasing?
The demo version works only with sample data to protect your ability to evaluate all features before purchase. Once you're confident it meets your needs, purchase a Basic or Professional license to unlock the ability to use your own data.​​​

What data do I need?
Required columns:

Employee ID (unique identifier)

Employee Name
-
Manager ID (ID of the employee's manager)
Optional: Job Title, Department, Location, or any other employee data you want to display in your org chart.

Why isn't My chart generating correctly
Most issues are related to data formatting:

Check that Employee IDs and Manager IDs match exactly
-
Ensure top-level managers have blank Manager ID fields
-
Verify there are no circular references (employee reporting to themselves)

Use the "Reset" button to start fresh if needed
